Closing Keynote Address

In this exciting closing session, you will be encouraged how to keep moving forward as a business owner and as a person that leads other humans. Dr. Knott will remind you how to keep your head up with the help of strategies that you put in place, while realizing the importance of membership and striving for awards and accreditation.


Dr. Kory Knott is the Senior Minister at Custer Road United Methodist Church in Plano, TX. Previously, he served as Senior Pastor of Argyle UMC in Argyle, TX from 2002-2013, and Associate Pastor to Youth, College Students, and Singles at Highland Park UMC in Dallas, TX from 1995-2002.

Kory received his B.A. degree in Biblical Studies/Psychology from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri (1993); his Master of Divinity from SMU Perkins School of Theology in Dallas, Texas (1997); and his Doctorate in Preaching from Portland Seminary (2018). Kory also has a certificate in Organizational Leadership from Cox School of Business, SMU (2010).

In addition to speaking at churches all over the country, Kory has been invited to speak before various civic, municipal, and non-profit organizations including: Legacy Christian Academy, Denton Chamber of Commerce, Argyle Independent School District, Plano City Council, Health Services of North Texas, and Metro Atlanta Project sponsored by Home Depot and Chick-fil-A. Kory has two publications to his credit: A collection of lectionary sermons titled The Desert Blooms, and A Cost-Sensitive Model for Revitalizing United Methodist Churches. He is currently collaborating on a funeral rites project that looks at the strange and sacred history of funerary and burial practices from the middle-ages to the present day.

Kory and his wife Jennifer have been married for 21 years and have three children: daughter, Taylor (15), and sons, Zachary (12) and Reed (9).
