This is based on a true story. On March 30, 2018, a reputable kennel burned to the ground. The day before, pets were checked into the kennel as owners headed out for spring break. The facility was at capacity, all 33 dogs died in the fire. Assumptions are made that between insurance companies, fire and police departments, that kennel owners, have a pet disaster and recovery plan. It’s not as straightforward as you may think.
It’s not a matter of if, it’s when a tragedy happens, you need to know what to do. It may not be to this magnitude, but as a pet care professional, you need to be able to coach, lead, communicate and build a strong team quickly in a crisis.
In this session you’ll learn:
- Pro-active measures to take in case of a kennel fire or disaster.
- How to handle television reporters and other media outreach.
- Suggestions to minimize your risk exposure.
